Tokyo, Sapporo, Furano 17-21/7/2007 Day 4

Took the early train to Beie, 40 mins from Furano. First, we sent on a bus tour for more flowers and trees. Weather was not as fine but a nice journey.

After the bus tour, we visited a workshop nearby to learn how to make ice cream. Yummy ;)

Right next to the workshop is a cafe, famous for its potato and grilled union......But clumsy me ordered the wrong dish :( think we need to visit Beie again! Beie is the town for Potatoes, even Calbee have a warehouse here...

We then travelled back to Furano...have an hour left before train to Sapporo, guess what we did ? Yamadori BBQ house, the beef was so nice, comparable to Kobe beef. They also have potato udon which is chewy and fresh! Another good choice for food in Furano.

Then we took another 2 hour train back to Sapporo for the Fireworks!!!! Yes, childhood dreams to be fulfilled, I suppose you have watched Orange Road before!

Checked-in Toyoko Inn again, this one even serve dinner for free!!! How about that!

道新・UHB 花火大會

Really brilliant~ Have all sorts of patterns (Rose and Hello kitty as example!) Check full album for more.

Finally dinner at 串鳥, famouse for 串燒, just around corner of Toyoko Inn. They have lots of branches so you need not memorise the address, just search online is ok.

Very tried....what a fun day! Tomorrow will be our last day in Japan.........

Tokyo, Sapporo, Furano 17-21/7/2007 Day 3

Nice Weather!

We took early flight to Sapporro, everything was smooth, flt slightly delayed but was ok. From Tokyo to Furano took us a total of 5.5 hrs door to door. Some activies on the road...

Finally arrive Furano! A quiet city...we checked in hotel right away and head for Naka-Furano as that is where all the flower fields are. The hotel is 1 minute walk form station and is really really good. Though a bit more expensive than Toyoko inn but definitely worth it! Click here for more info.
We went to three different spots for flower viewing: Farm Tomito, Choei Lavender Farm and 彩香之里. See the complete album for more!

As for snacks and food:

Corn cake, Potato with butter and Lavander ice cream are very nice! Must try.

Left: 唯我獨尊 curry, Right: Raw beef with rice @ くまげら Kumagera

唯我獨尊 Curry is very thick and tasty, just a bit too hot for Cissy :P Not the best ever, so if you have only 1 meal quota, go to Kumagera instead.

Raw beef rice is so yummy!!! I must say Kumagera is THE place to dine in Furano....would be real nice to have a full meal there with a bunch of good friends!

Ok, Day 4 will be to Beie and Sapporo for a mystery activity :)

Tokyo, Sapporo, Furano 17-21/7/2007 Day 2

Woke up early in the morning and head to Lake Kawaguchi 河口湖 to view Mt. Fuji....

Breakfast at Shinjuku station noodle bar ;)

We decided to take express bus instead of train. The weather was not that nice, so eventually we were not able to see Mt Fuji. Still, we enjoyed the nice and relaxing city by touring around on the scenic bus.

We also joined a course to make Jam ourselves....yummy, will make french toast with it soon :)

Lunch at a restaurant next to art museum, very tender Japanese Beef grilled on stone, unexpectedly nice....The funny thing is they have a long long limosine parked in front door for hire.....

More relaxtion - Outdoor Onsen for the two of us :)

Then its another 2 hr bus back to Shinjuku. We went to 北澤俱樂部 for dinner, which is famous for 迴轉壽司 in 新宿. Just next to the express bus stop. Click here for map. The Uni is actually not that nice, but have to try the toro, shrimps and the scallops! Very fresh!
Time to go back to hotel as its 0830 flight to Sapporo tomorrow....really need good weather!
